Markets

Next generation markets
In developed wind energy markets, a significant proportion of electricity consumption is already being generated by wind turbines. This limits future expansion and reduces overall return on investment compared to markets surrounding us where penetration is lower.

To ensure long-term scalability and, at the same time, minimize risk, WindSpace is strategically focused on developing Poland and Sweden as our key markets. In both markets we have discovered low penetration, well-defined legal and regulatory systems and a broad range of qualified, dedicated and experienced partners.

Poland
In order to promote the development of wind parks, the Polish government has implemented a favorable regime which combines green certificates with statutory obligations to ensure the energy companies produce 10,4% of total electricity output through renewable energy. The target is 15% renewable energy consumption by 2020.

Our projects in Poland are mainly located in the countryside west of Warsaw. The area is between 100-200 meters above sea level and relatively flat, which gives good and stable wind conditions. At present, there are options to enter power purchase agreements with local energy companies of up to 10 years duration.

Sweden
Sweden is a highly developed country with one of the most ambitious renewable energy plans in the world and wind is a central delivery resource. This, combined with Sweden’s well-developed infrastructure and efficient government and legal practices, represents a major opportunity for many years ahead.

Our projects are located in Central and Northern Sweden, also showing good and stable wind conditions. We are negotiating for attractive power purchase agreements with Danish and Swedish energy companies of up to 5 years duration.

Other markets
We continuously evaluate the opportunities for wind park development in new markets. Growth opportunities, appropriate support system for renewable energy and, most importantly, experienced and competent local partners are key requirements before entering a new market. We do not offer any project in new countries until we know the legal system, have obtained market specific knowledge and investigated partners thoroughly.
